I've been taking pictures with this to create headshots for my YouTube channel and I've had some excellent results. The flash itself is fairly compact to say that it's so powerful and it's easy to use.The fact it has a rechargeable battery is a great plus, and of course, with the power output, you can use this in daylight outside, other than in really extremely bright conditions. The battery life seems pretty good, and I'm getting a large number of shots out of it. And overall, I think Neewer are probably catching up to Godox, or possibly even overtaking them.It comes with a fairly neat carry case which will protect the flash and it comes with a suitable grip stroke stand holder. I've used it with the softbox and I've had some excellent results.I'm very pleased with them and I'm using the headshots from those tests on my actual live YouTube channel so that tells you I think compared to other flashes of this type, it's fair value for money. None of them with this kind of power are going to be super cheap.A big thing that I find useful is that it will work with the Godox triggers that I have, and it works perfectly, completely seamlessly.I suppose the only thing I would prefer is if you could somehow mount this on your camera in the hot shoe but given the way it's made that would be a bit of a problem and it would probably add cost to them because they'd have to have a dedicated hot shoe mount for each camera make. Whereas with this, you just need a trigger.I also have two of the larger flashes from this company but they are massive and really heavy so for day-to-day type of photography I will probably choose this particular flash rather than the big super heavy ones.

I’ve used a few portable lights and flashes and this feels like a nice middle ground between a regular speedlight and a bigger studio strobe. It’s compact enough to take around without feeling like a hassle, but it still has a good amount of power behind it. For indoor portraits, product shots, and smaller creative setups, the output is strong and consistent. The light looks clean and neutral to my eye, and the built-in modeling light is helpful when you want to see where your shadows are landing before taking the shot. The build feels solid overall, and I like that it comes with a carrying bag, battery, charger cable, diffuser, and mounting handle. The battery slides in easily, and the recycle time is quick, especially when you’re not firing at full power every shot. The app control is also a nice bonus once you get it connected, since it saves you from constantly walking over to the light to adjust settings. It’s very convenient if you have it up on a stand or positioned across the room. The only thing to keep in mind is that you’ll need a compatible trigger if you want to get the most out of features like TTL and HSS, since that is not included. The menu is usable, but it takes a little playing around before it feels fully intuitive. Overall though, I’m impressed with it. It’s portable, powerful for its size, and very useful for portraits, product photography, and outdoor shoots where you want more control than a basic flash can give._______________Because the two product merged, here's a review of the neewer q200 as I have both the 120 and the 200. So ive had the 120 for several months now and I was pretty happy with it. So why move to 200 then right? It wasn't really about suddenly needing a completely different flash. It was more about getting a little more room to work with. The jump from 120W to 200W is noticeable when you're trying to overpower ambient light or push light through a modifier and the Q200 also has a much stronger 10W modeling light compared to the Q120's 3W. Being able to adjust the modeling light from 2700K to 6500K is another upgrade that I actually find useful when I'm trying to see how the light is going to look and bounce before taking the shot. The battery is, ofc, has also been improved. The Q120 is rated around 410-420 full power flashes while the Q200 can go up to around 750 ish and you still get the same 0.01-1.5 second recycle range which is fast fast fasg. The Q200 also has the built in cooling fan and the all metal handle feels more substantial, although you're paying for that because the Q200 is about 2.2 lb compared with roughly 1.5 lb for the Q120. So it's not really an upgrade in every single way. You're carrying a bigger and a tad heavier light. For me though, the Q200 feels like the more capable version of something I already liked rather than a completely different experience. You still get TTL, manual power down to 1/256, HSS up to 1/8000s, wireless control and the same general portable setup. If you already own a Q120 and mostly shoot indoors or don't find yourself running out of power, I wouldn't say you have to upgrade just because the Q200 exists. The Q120 is still a very capable little strobe. But if you're starting to shoot outdoors, using bigger modifiers or just want more power and battery life without jumping all the way up to something like a 400Ws unit, that's where I think the Q200 starts making a lot more sense. For me, it's a worthwhile upgrade because I actually use the extra headroom. Whether it's worth spending the extra money really comes down to whether you're going to use that extra headroom too.

I’m new to flash photography and after doing some research I was decided on saving up for a Godox AD100 Pro II. But then out of no where this gem shined and popped into view. Did some quick research and decided to buy it right then and there. Coming from corded torjim continuous lights. This thing is AWESOME. Very bright! I was thinking needing to save up for a 300w light but no, you’re getting one heck of a bang for your buck with this one. For the price the value is practically unbeatable. It’s very compact too since setup is very quick. Will post photos of the use when I get to use it.

I’m a wedding photographer and this has become my favorite flash. It is so compact and powerful. However, even on the lowest power… it can be a little loud if you are at a quiet ceremony… almost sounds like it’s on full power. Works with my Godox trigger after software update.

Works really well. Used in a professional studio. Fires consistently, no issues.

I purchased two because I needed some cheap 100W strobes for a dark, interior sessions. They are being used around water in a very humid, and hot room. So far they have not failed and I have pushed them hard. 500-750 shot sessions. My only "issue" is one of the batteries sometimes doesn't recycle as fast as the other. Both of mine came with the updated firmware. Just had to turn on the rX mode and started going to work.

It's the best bang for the buck, simple as that.
